Barossa Valley

Barossa Valley

Barossa Valley

The Barossa is a beautiful valley that sits just 60 km n-e of Adelaide and covers 40 km in length. It plays host to some of Australia’s leading vineyards and wineries and its rich German heritage dates back to 1830s.  The area is also renowned for its fine dining restaurants, boutique style accommodation and the annual Barossa Vintage Festival. Named after the Barossa Ranges, main towns in the area include Lyndoch, Tanunda with a strong German heritage, Angaston with a similarly strong British influence and Nuriootpa which shares both German and English backgrounds.

Visitor Information Centre: 66 Murray St, Tanunda. Tel (08) 8563 0600 or 1200 812 662.
